Top 5 Travel Trends for 2025
Find out what vacations we predict will top the charts for travelers in 2025.
Traveling more is always high on the list of trendy New Year’s Resolutions… and for good reason. Travel rejuvenates, excites, educates and creates memories to last a lifetime.
We’ve collected our top five travel destinations and trends we expect to take off in 2025.
Walt Disney World
Coming off a robust list of announcements from the D23 Expo, Walt Disney World is expected to have quite the exciting 2025.
Each of the property’s four parks will get a dose of fresh pixie dust over the course of the year.
First up is EPCOT, the soon-to-be home of a Spaceship Earth-themed lounge coming this spring, sure to appeal to fans of the classic ride through time. Later this summer, Test Track will also unveil a reimagined ride experience that brings guests through the evolution of mobility.
Next door at Hollywood Studios, debuting two new live shows this summer. “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” and a fresh reimagining of Ariel and friends in “The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure.” The Villains stage show will feature iconic Disney adversaries like Cruella de Vil, Maleficent and Captain Hook, while The Little Mermaid will unveil new sets, puppets, performers and musical numbers fit for the undersea princess.
At the Magic Kingdom this summer, guests will surely line up for a brand new, sparkling nighttime parade, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.” The glowing parade is expected to combine new technology with Disney nostalgia, perfect for Disney fans old and new. Also coming this summer is a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, opening its doors in Adventureland.
Finally, the end of 2025 will see an exclusive new 4D show at Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Light Theater. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” takes the place of “”It’s Tough to be a Bug,” and features Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and other animal favorites from the Zootopia universe.
Universal Orlando
Fans have been counting down to the opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, which finally comes to fruition next year.
Five new lands – along with a glamorous hotel with exclusive access – will open in May 2025.
Portals will transport guests to Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Celestial Park. Each land caters to a diverse group of ages, interests and fandoms.
Adjacent to Celestial Park, the hub of Epic Universe, stands the Helios Grand Hotel. This fresh hotel has its own dedicated entrance to Epic Universe, and immerses guests in sleek luxury. Also new to the Universal Orlando landscape are the Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resorts, opening in January and March. Both are inspired by challenging the limits of exploration, and with Magical Vacations Travel, you can try out Stella Nova for yourself with our agency exclusive offer this February.
Anticipation for the park has been building for several years, with a brief hiatus in building during the pandemic. We expect this opening to draw immense crowds and excitement, in addition to Universal’s adjacent parks and CityWalk.
Cruises
Cruising has been growing as the hottest way to travel since reopening post-pandemic.
Travelers love the ability to unpack once and experience multiple destinations, coming home each night to their “city at sea” for dining, entertainment and amenities all in one place.
At Magical Vacations Travel, our agents have curated annual itineraries for the hottest ships, ports and worldwide destinations through Magical Voyages. These specially-selected sailings bring bucket-list opportunities to guests at the best possible prices.
Whether you’re looking for a tropical getaway, Alaskan adventure or a romantic European escape, Magical Vacations Travel can get you there through the multitude of cruise lines with which we’ve partnered. Choose from commercial favorites like Disney, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, or step outside the box with river cruises like Viking, AmaWaterways and Tauck. We like to think the only guests who don’t like cruising are those who haven’t done it before!
Europe
Europe has always been high on a traveler’s wish list, but it’s so much more accessible today than ever before.
You no longer have to commit to backpacking across the continent, or shell out a life savings to see historic cities for yourself.
Two of our top choices for crossing Europe off the list are by river cruising, or guided tours. Both options are curated to select locations or types of destinations that most appeal to you. That could mean a river cruise to see the Christmas markets of Germany and Austria, tasting your way through the charming towns of Tuscany, sailing along the banks of the Seine and so much more.
These tours and cruises take the pressure off of planning each last detail, and are ideal for those who might want a more intimate, custom vacation that they haven’t yet found through larger commercial offerings
Mexico & Jamaica
All-inclusive resorts are moving back to the spotlight, especially in tropical areas like Mexico and Jamaica.
Guests crave the relaxation of sun and sand, with a laundry list of recreational activities, world-class dining and unlimited drinks.
Resorts like Sandals and Beaches are proving that you don’t have to compromise quality or taste when picking an all-inclusive, and you can find a destination dedicated to families or adults-only without having to look far.
As a bonus, hospitality companies are investing even more in these areas, which means more offerings, better experiences and supporting local economies.
Refurbishments and new infrastructure are growing in both Mexico and Jamaica, making either a great option for your next beach escape.
So what will it be – theme parks, beaches, historic cities or a vacation on the open ocean? What destinations are next on your travel bucket list? Whatever you chose our agents are ready to help make your vacation dreams come true!
