Resort Showcase – Disney’s Pop Century
One of Disney’s most popular resorts, Pop Century is packed
with features that attract guests of all ages and groups of all sizes.
“Living in the Past” gets a whole new meaning at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!
Opened in 2003, this Value resort celebrates the nostalgia of decades past, from the 1950s jukebox to floppy disks of the 1990s. It boasts a motel-style layout, where buildings branch out from the main lobby and pool area, and guestrooms open right to the outdoors.
Its affordability and access to the Skyliner have made Pop Century one of Disney’s most popular resorts.
And while refurbishments over recent years have given new life to the property, it remains among the most well-themed areas at Walt Disney World.
Rooms
Recent refurbishments brought clean, retro flair to this decades-themed resort.
Guest rooms at Pop Century are all very similar, outfitted with retro Disney artwork and sleek new materials.
They sleep up to four adults across a combination of King or Queen beds and a Queen-sized pull-down, and have a good amount of storage space for your clothes, suitcases and souvenirs.
The rooms may all have the same look and feel, but guests can choose a Standard or Preferred room to upgrade their proximity to the main lobby and pool area, as well as their view to secure window overlooking a pool.
You may request a room in a particular decade, but keep in mind that certain buildings are dedicated “Preferred” spaces, so you may have to be flexible.
Amenities
A Value resort, Pop Century offers up standard amenities, such as hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, as well as a mini beverage cooler.
Redesigned bathrooms are bright and fresh, with traditional Disney toiletries and dedicated spaces for the vanity and shower.
Like other Value resorts, Pop Century caters well to families with children of all ages. Three pools – the Hippy Dippy Pool, Bowling Pool and Computer Pool are all well-themed and placed throughout the grounds. The main Hippy Dippy Pool is home to Movies Under the Stars screenings, as well as other special events like pool parties, trivia and games.
Guests of Pop Century can also take advantage of these additional resort amenities:
- Campfire activities
- Fast Forward Arcade
