Resort Showcase – Disney’s Art of Animation
If you’re looking to step out of reality for a few days, consider booking Disney’s Art of Animation resort for an immersive wall-to-wall experience of color, creativity and characters.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has become the destination of choice for Guests looking to truly immerse themselves in the whimsical world of Disney and Pixar animation.
Opened in 2012, the Value resort features some of the most colorful and lively theming on property. Beloved (and often larger-than-life) Disney and Pixar characters are showcased from the lobby to the pools and especially the guest rooms, which are consistently in high demand.
The resort’s proximity to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, as well as Disney Springs adds to its appeal, especially when paired with access to Disney’s newest form of transportation, the Skyliner.
Rooms
Like many Value resorts, Art of Animation is a favorite among families, thanks to its price point, vivid theming, and amenities well-suited for guests of all ages.
The resort is split into two types of accommodations, Standard Rooms and Family Suites.
Little Mermaid Standard Rooms sleep up to four adults, with either a king or two queen-sized beds. Your views may include that of the courtyard, one of three pools or general parking/landscaping. These rooms are bright and colorful, with under-the-sea decor and artwork like seashells, bubbles, Flounder and Ariel.
Most rooms at Art of Animation are heavily-themed and brightly-colored, making them a huge draw for Guests young and young-at-heart.
Family Suites are an excellent option for those who need a little more space, but don’t want to split up the group between multiple rooms. Choose from your pick of themed suites, including Finding Nemo, Cars, or The Lion King. These suites are such a fun and easy way to inject even more magic into your vacation, with playful details and favorite characters sprinkled across the bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
You can also opt for a general Family Suite if you want the space, but don’t need the fanfare.
Each Family Suite sleeps up to six adults across one queen bed, one double sleeper soda and one double table bed. Views include anything from pools, courtyards, or other common spaces like landscaping or parking.
An added perk of staying at Art of Animation? For a nominal fee, you’re even able to bring along up to two dogs with you in select rooms.
Amenities
Art of Animation Standard rooms offer up amenities you’ve come to know of a Disney Value Resort, including hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, complimentary WiFi and mini beverage coolers.
When you opt for one of the Family or themed suites, you’ll also upgrade to additional amenities like a microwave, two bathrooms and a kitchenette.
Whether you’re traveling with children, or are looking to relax with your significant other, Art of Animation serves up three pools to choose from – including the single largest pool on Walt Disney World property, the Big Blue Pool.
The Big Blue Pool, Cozy Cone Pool and Flippin’ Fins Pool are all colorfully themed and inspired by favorite Disney and Pixar films like Finding Nemo, Cars and the Little Mermaid. They each come with fun and interactive features like splash pads, cabanas, and themed décor chock full of childhood nostalgia.
Guests of Pop Century can also take advantage of these additional resort amenities:
- Campfire activities
- Movies Under the Stars shown nightly at the Big Blue Pool
- Pixel Play Arcade in Animation Hall
- Playground
- Jogging trails
Transportation
Similar to Pop Century, the Skyliner has added immense value to Disney’s Art of Animation resort. Hop into a gondola for a quick ride to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, or other resorts like the Riviera or Caribbean Beach.
If you’re looking to visit the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, other resorts or Disney Springs, the Disney bus system is also available to bring you just about anywhere on Disney property.
And if you choose to rent or bring your own car, complimentary overnight parking has recently returned to Walt Disney World resorts.
Dining
While you won’t find many different eateries at Art of Animation, the Landscape of Flavors food court is continually lauded as one of the best on property. Various stations offer up grill classics, refreshing salads, pizza, pasta, sweet treats and even plant-based options.
Counter & Quick Service
Landscape of Flavors – Food court serving up classic Disney breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Swing by for early morning Mickey waffles, lunchtime pizza by the pool, or a comforting entrée after a long day at the parks.
The Drop Off Pool Bar – Refuel poolside with specialty cocktails, frozen drinks, or a quick snack like Mickey bars, pretzels or sandwiches.
Disney’s Art of Animation epitomizes the character of Disney and Pixar films, which is why it’s no surprise that the resort books up well in advance. When planning your next Walt Disney World vacation, be sure to tell your agent early if you’re looking to stay, especially if you have your heart set on a themed Family Suite.
