Resort Showcase – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas
Luxuriously secluded, Animal Kingdom Lodge has everything you need for a vacation on the savanna.
Opened in 2001, Animal Kingdom Lodge was instantly popular, attracting guests with unique dining options and lush savannas filled with exotic wildlife.
The Deluxe hotel is intricately themed with African artwork, music, architecture, and landscaping, adding to its off-the-beaten path appeal.
When Disney Vacation Club Villas entered the picture in 2009, Animal Kingdom Lodge was divided into two resorts, Jambo House and Kidani Village. While Jambo House accommodates both DVC and non-DVC guests, Kidani Village is reserved specifically for DVC members.
Rooms
One of the many unique features of Animal Kingdom Lodge is the variety of accommodations to choose from. Guests can pick from Standard King or Double Queen rooms, with Standard, Pool, or Savanna views.
Rooms are outfitted with traditional African details, like natural materials, colors and artwork.
You also have the option of choosing a Deluxe Studio, and 1-, 2-, or 3-Bedroom Suites, with or without Club Level Access. For even more space and amenities, many guests opt for the 1-, 2- or 3-Bedroom Villas.
As with Standard rooms, Studios, Suites and Villas come with a range of views, including Standard, Pool, or Savanna views. Without surprise, Savanna View rooms are among the most popular, allowing guests to step onto their balcony or patio to the sight of giraffes, zebras, impalas and many other species roaming the property.
Amenities
From the moment you step into the impressive lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge, you know you’ve entered a Deluxe resort.
Toiletries, pool towels, hair dryers, televisions, beverage coolers, WiFi and in-room coffee and tea are immediately available to make you feel welcome.
When you level up to a Deluxe Studio or Villa, you’ll also enjoy extra comforts of home, like microwaves, ironing supplies and dinnerware. If you’ve opted for a villa with even more space and luxury, you’ll find a full kitchen setup, cookware, washer and dryer, and a whirlpool tub.
Those with Club Level rooms are also provided complimentary access to the on-site health club, as well as the Concierge Service at the Kilimanjaro Club.
Looking for a relaxing way to spend the evening? Grab a chair and settle in for Movies Under the Stars at the Uzima Springs Pool.
Outside of your rooms, Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to two unique pools – the Uzima Springs Pool and Samawati Springs Pool. Both feature zero-depth entries, waterslides and lush, relaxing greenery, but Samawati Springs also boasts a water playground and splash zones for kids of all ages.

Transportation
A hot topic for fans of Animal Kingdom Lodge is the location. While its secluded environment is ideal for a duo or family getaway, it’s not the easiest resort to get to or from.
