Resort Showcase – All-Star Movies, Music and Sports
You don’t have to choose between value and magic at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music and Sports.
Rounding out Walt Disney World’s Value resorts are the All-Star Resorts. Three distinct properties are home to three unique themes, including All-Star Music, All-Star Movies and All-Star Sports.
Aside from the price point, families and children are drawn to the playful theming of the All-Star Resorts.
Opened in the mid-to-late 1990s, the All-Stars house more than 5000 rooms in a motel-style layout, appealing to budget-friendly families, sports and educational groups, as well as guests looking for immersive theming. They lean into their cartoonish theming, with brightly-colored décor and larger-than-life props across the grounds. Turn a corner and you could come face-to-face with a towering drum set, football helmet or even Pongo and Perdita!
Rooms
Rooms across All Star Movies, Music and Sports all come in similar tiers. You can choose from a Standard or Preferred room, or, if you’re a guest of the All-Star Music resort, a Family Suite.
All rooms come equipped with a view of the pool, courtyard or parking area. In the case of the All-Star resorts, the heavily-themed grounds mean your Standard view could put you right in the middle of the action, with oversized characters, props and athletic gear.
Recharge in comfort with fresh accents and efficient layouts built to fit the whole family.
Standard and Preferred rooms all accommodate up to four adults with combinations of King, Queen, and Double-sized beds. When you upgrade to a Family Suite, up to six adults will fit comfortably across one Queen and two Queen-sized pull-down beds.
Preferred rooms at the All-Star Resorts mean you’re closer to the main halls, along with dining, shopping and transportation options. Consider a preferred room if you’re on a tight itinerary, and especially if you have anyone in your party that may need extra time or mobility accommodations.
Amenities
As with other Disney Value Resorts, the All-Stars are outfitted with hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, complimentary WiFi and mini beverage coolers. Family Suites take the basic comforts a step further, with two full bathrooms, a microwave, and a kitchenette. The extra space and appliances are especially helpful for guests storing or cooking meals in between trips to the parks.
Arcades are one of the many reasons these resorts appeal to families and groups of younger children. Each of the All-Star resorts has its own arcade within the main halls, so groups can easily split up between games, the food court and on-site shopping.
Also appealing to guests of all ages are the numerous pools.
At All-Star Movies, cool off at the aptly-named Fantasia Pool or Duck Pond Pool, inspired by the Mighty Ducks franchise. Over at All-Star Music, take a dip with the Three Caballeros at the Calypso Pool or Piano Pool. And across the way at All-Star Sports, channel your inner athlete at the Surfboard Bay Pool or Grand Slam Pool.
Guests of All-Star Movies, Music and Sports can also take advantage of these additional resort amenities:
- Campfire activities
- Movies Under the Stars (shown nightly at each of the resort’s pool areas)
- Playgrounds
- Jogging trails
- Poolside Activities
Transportation
Situated on the southern end of Walt Disney World property, the All-Star resorts rely on the Disney bus transportation to get guests to and from their destinations.
While subject to change, the buses begin running 45 minutes to park opening, and service stops one hour after park close.
If you choose to rent or bring your own car, complimentary overnight parking has recently returned to Walt Disney World resorts.
Dining
Each of the three All-Star Resorts comes outfitted with a food court in the main hall, as well as an accompanying pool bar. Catering to families, groups and everything in-between, these eateries feature mainly American dishes and well-known Disney snacks. Expect the resorts’ bright themes to continue into the décor and menus.
