MVT Agent Spotlight: Jessica
With boundless energy and the skill to match, Jessica seamlessly joined the Disney travel industry with Magical Vacations Travel in 2011.
There’s a special type of personality that comes along with being a “Disney Person.”
Whether they be a child or adult, introverted or outgoing, there’s a magnetic energy about them that sticks with you. They’re passionate and informed, but also eager to share their wealth of knowledge with whoever seems to need it.
Agent Jessica is full of that energy, and became a member of the Disney travel industry after years of being the designated planner of family trips. Even as a child, she remembers crafting daily itineraries for family vacations, a skill that grew with her and her travel footprint into adulthood.
“At my previous job, I was helping one of my coworkers plan her upcoming Walt Disney World trip,” she said, “giving her suggestions on dining reservations and which park to visit when she looked at me and said ‘You really should get paid to do this.’ She wasn’t wrong!“
This year marks 13 years since Jessica joined the team at Magical Vacations Travel, and she’s not slowing down any time soon.
Using countless trips, trainings, and personal experiences, she applies those talents to helping her clients build memorable vacations across the globe.
“I sell whatever and wherever my clients want to travel,” she said. “The world is wide, and I love to help match my clients with the destination and vacation experience that fits their family!” Whether it be a first-time family vacation to Walt Disney World, an adults-only Caribbean escape, or an adventure-filled river cruise along the banks of Europe’s most storied cities, Jessica has not only booked it all… she’s done it all.
Jessica knows how valuable it can be to inform with firsthand knowledge, and has been lucky enough to experience a wide variety of destinations for herself. Of course, she’ll always feel at home whenever she crosses under the Walt Disney World arches, but says visiting Paris last year was even better than she anticipated, and she can’t wait to return.
When it comes to Disney properties, Jessica lights up at the wealth of memories she has at the parks and resorts. She’s visited numerous times with friends and family, as well as with other agents to learn more about updates and offerings.
Staying on property so often has allowed Jessica to thoroughly curate her taste for resorts, hailing Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs as her top choice for onsite hotels.
“I love the atmosphere, the dining options, and the cast members there,” she said. “It took a long time for me to find a favorite resort, but Coronado just feels like home!” She’s certainly not alone, as guests continually praise the Moderate resort for its intricate theming and top-notch dining.
When asked her favorite restaurant, however, Jessica took no time in putting Topolino’s Terrace at the top of her list.
“I got to go to Topolino’s on their opening day as one of the first breakfast reservations of the morning. It was so exciting stepping into a brand-new resort and a brand-new restaurant!”
In fact, Jessica is such a fan of the space and the character experience that she has dressed to match the Riviera-inspired characters on more than one occasion!
Known for her colorful personality AND wardrobe, Jessica loves an opportunity to dress up alongside her Disney pals!
While resort and restaurant were (somewhat) easy choices for Jessica to settle on… attractions are another story. Her “Disney energy” runs so deep that she had to pick an attraction for each of the Orlando parks – selecting Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios, and Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom. It’s safe to say Jessica is prepared for rope drop wherever she finds herself.
Still, aside from magical attractions and food to write home about, what keeps Jessica coming back time and time again is the Disney atmosphere.
“There is nothing like walking down Main Street in the morning with all the hustle and bustle around you and seeing the castle for the first time of the trip. Or a character in a parade catching your eye and waving RIGHT AT YOU. It doesn’t matter if you are a kid or a kid at heart, everyone gets to share in the joy,” she said.
Jessica shares the magic with her family, remembering her own experiences meeting characters like Mickey Mouse for the first time.
She joins many of our agents in relishing the comfortable buzz of the parks, and taking the time to people watch and let your senses take in the sights, smells and sounds that are expertly crafted by Imagineers.
Jessica has yet to get her fill of Walt Disney World, but is just as eager to explore new places across the globe.
“Now that Japan is welcoming tourists again,” she said, “I am dying to get to Tokyo DisneySea! But first, I am taking my family on an Alaskan cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line this summer.” She first traveled to Alaska aboard the Norwegian Bliss last year with three other MVT agents, and looks forward to sharing the unique experience with her family.
Jessica has carefully honed her skills and experiences well-beyond her 13 years with Magical Vacations Travel. Her clients know that she will be able to provide firsthand knowledge, or will find answers she may not know right away.
To those visiting Walt Disney World for the first time, Jessica’s top tip is to listen to yourself and your group to avoid stress and burnout.
“If anyone – kids, grownups, anything in between – starts getting grumpy, TAKE A BREAK,” she said. “Stop. Sit. Have a snack and some water. I promise you that the magic will still be there when you are ready to get moving again.”
