Leave Your Worries at Home: Scooter and Stroller Rentals at Walt Disney World
We’ve done the legwork. Renting a stroller or ECV at Walt Disney World wins every time over packing our own and carting them through the airport.
Packing for a Walt Disney World vacation can take up enough headspace, even before you actually start loading the suitcases and Loungefly bags. Add a stroller or ECV to the mix, and your trip just got even more complex.
We’ve had our fair share of experience traveling to Walt Disney World with both, and have collected our best tips and tricks so you can focus on which Mickey ears to pack.
Strollers
When traveling with children, you’ll need as many free hands as you can get, which is why we recommend our clients rent a stroller once they’ve arrived in Orlando, versus packing in the car or navigating airport stroller policies.
Our top choice for stroller rental lands with Kingdom Strollers.
Kingdom Strollers offers various models and add-ons, including snack trays, stroller hooks, rain covers and more. Guests can book singles, doubles and even special needs strollers, which accommodate higher weight capacities.
They even provide a (limited) number of scooter rentals, as well as cribs and bedding for your little one.
Kingdom Strollers conveniently lets you pick up at the airport, or have your order delivered right to your Disney Resort hotel.
One of the major reasons we return to Kingdom Strollers time and time again is ease of use.
When you book your stroller, you can choose to pick it up right at the airport, or have it delivered to the main lobby of your Disney Resort hotel. The stroller is yours for the duration of your reservation, and can be taken in and out of parks, on Disney transportation, and keep your personal belongings all together during your trip. It even comes tagged with the name on your reservation, so you can more easily find it among the sea of strollers you’ll find in the parks.
Keep in mind, if you choose to have a stroller delivered to your resort, you’ll need to be present for both drop-off and pickup with a Kingdom Strollers team member.
If you’re not looking to reserve with an outside company, you always have the option to rent once you get to the parks.
This is likely a better option for families that are unsure if they’ll need the extra set of wheels, and if you only need the option while you’re walking around the parks. Simply pick up a stroller at the entrance and return on your way out.
Disney offers day rentals, as well as weeklong rentals, where you drop off your stroller as you leave one park, and pick up a new one at your next destination.
Regardless of which option you choose, Walt Disney World is extremely stroller-friendly, with stroller parking available at or around most attractions. In periods of high-traffic, Cast Members may rearrange stroller parking “lots,” so just remember that your stroller may not be exactly where you left it. We recommend adorning your stroller with something that will help it stand out from the crowd – balloons, ribbons, signs – families often tap into their creativity to make their stroller known.
Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs)
ECVs, or Electric Conveyance Vehicles, are also commonplace around Walt Disney World.
While guests requiring this type of scooter may choose to bring their own for comfort or familiarity, you can certainly rent for your trip as well.
ECVs are available to rent at the parks, but they’re even more limited than strollers, and certainly do run out. At Magical Vacations Travel, we recommend renting through ScooterBug, which is the official Disney featured provider of ECVs for guests of Disney resort hotels.
Our own agents have used and had positive experiences with ScooterBug, and endorse the company to friends, family and clients. Not only do they have a selection of models to choose from, but ScooterBug will deliver your ECV right to your Disney Resort hotel – and you don’t have to be there to receive it. Simply head to Bell Services when you arrive to pick up your scooter, and keep it with you for the duration of your trip.
When using a stroller or ECV at Walt Disney World, be sure to plan ahead with transportation options. You’re able to use either on Disney buses, monorails, boats and Skyliner gondolas, but there are certain limitations for who boards first, and how many can be accommodated. Those using ECVs likely need to board transportation first, so try to flag a driver or attendant to let them know you’ll need assistance.
If you’re toggling with the idea of bringing versus renting a stroller or ECV for your upcoming Disney trip… reach out! We have agents well-versed in booking, using and returning these devices, and plenty of tips to go along with that experience.
