Everything We Know About Epic Universe
After years of anticipation and unexpected delays, Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe is slated to open in 2025.
Ready or not, 2025 will be here before you know it, and the countdown to Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe is officially underway.
The company first announced the addition of a fourth park back in 2019, before a global pandemic put expansion efforts on hold. Fast forward a few years, and we’re finally within reach of a game-changing new theme park experience.
Here’s what we know so far.
Five New Areas
Epic Universe will be comprised of five immersive “worlds” that cater to all levels of the imagination: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Dark Universe.
Celestial Park
Celestial Park acts as a hub, connecting all five worlds together. It’s home to the portal where guests can enter other areas of the park, and also serves as a central meeting space for guests to shop, dine, rest and interact.
Connection is the underlying motivation behind Celestial Park, bringing together those from all walks of life to discover new lengths and understand one another. The park will feature attractions such as Constellation Carousel, Stardust Racers and the interactive compass, Astronomica.
Heavy focus was put into making Celestial Park an organic oasis. Instead of concrete as far as the eye can see, guests will walk among lush gardens, fountains and scenery that lights up into the evening hours.
Plus, Celestial Park includes direct access to the newest UO resort, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel. This innovative new property draws inspiration from the constellations and the Gods, with Mediterranean flair sewn throughout.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
Travel back in time to experience how witches and wizards like Newt Scamander lived among “fantastic beasts” in 1920s Paris. Then, transport back to the Ministry of the 1990s to help Harry, Ron and Hermione battle Delores Umbridge once again.
This new branch of the Potter-verse gives a fresh perspective on the beloved magical stories that took the world by storm.
Ministry of Magic will include new interactive wand experiences, cirque-style shows with magical creatures, character interactions, and a variety of Parisian options to eat, shop and play.
Super Nintendo World
Gamers from coast to coast unite as Super Nintendo World expands from California to Florida!
Step into the video game life with attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure, while the supersized world around you sends shells flying and Koopas patrolling. Over in Donkey Kong Country, the whole family can pile in for a ride on Mine-Cart Madness.
Interactive challenges across the land will test your skills as you collect digital keys for Power-Up Bands, in between visits with beloved characters like Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toad.
We’re especially excited to see Toadstool Cafe making its way east, serving up game-worthy bites, salads, handhelds and sweets!
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Head through the portal and be transported to a rugged land of Vikings and dragons.
Saddle up for a soaring roller coaster ride on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, practice your dragon-training skills with Dragon Racer’s Rally, channel your inner viking for a boat battle on Fyre Drill, and save some energy for climbing and jumping around Viking Training Camp.
Guests are sure to stay entertained with a dragon stage show, character meets and intricately-themed dining options.
Dark Universe
Dark Universe commemorates classic monsters and twisted characters throughout history.
Muster your courage for spooky attractions like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, and Curse of the Werewolf spinning coaster.
Plus, if you’re feeling brave, you can meet with Frankenstein and his bride, Ygor and the Invisible man.
Before heading back to the light, we’ll be sure to stop into Das Stakehaus for a meal with the vampires, and swing by the Burning Blade Tavern, where the blades of a storied old mill burst into flames every 20 minutes!
New Hotels
In addition to the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, two new hotels will open their doors in early 2025.
Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resorts celebrate exploration and discovery, featuring modern space-themed designs to satisfy guests of all ages.
These hotels will be right next door to Epic Universe, making both excellent (and convenient) options for exploring the highly-anticipated new park.
Stella Nova opens its doors on January 21, 2025, while Terra Luna welcomes its first guests February 25, 2025.
We’re still awaiting final details and opening dates for Epic Universe, but our agents are at-the-ready to help plan your next adventure to brand-new worlds and experiences at Universal Orlando.
