Disney Cruise Line: The Concierge Level Difference
Whether you’re new to cruising, or looking to level-up your next getaway-at-sea, the Concierge experience is one you won’t forget.
Sailing with Disney Cruise Line is a magical experience, regardless of which ship or destinations you choose. From top tier service to gourmet dining, and Disney charm hidden around every corner… it’s no wonder guests return time and time again.
And whether you’re just beginning to flex your sea legs, or you’re a seasoned veteran, there are always options to “level up” your cruise vacation. Selecting more “luxurious” destinations or excursions may seem like the obvious choices, but guests may not know how selecting a Concierge Level room can truly make a difference in your overall experience.
What is Concierge Level?
A select number of rooms and suites on each ship are assigned Concierge status, and offer guests the highest level of hospitality.
These staterooms are outfitted with upgraded amenities and accessories, including toiletries and premium bedding, and are located close to the Concierge Lounge. Depending on the tier of Concierge-Level room you choose, you may be eligible for additional room service upgrades.
What kind of perks will I receive onboard?
You may already be familiar with the idea of a Club or Concierge Level Lounge, but Concierge status with Disney Cruise Line is so much more.
The perks of upgrading begin the moment you arrive at the port on embarkation day. Instead of being assigned an arrival time, Concierge guests are able to come aboard as soon as the ship is ready for new passengers.
While others are waiting to cross the gangway, you can explore the ship, settle into a lounge chair with a drink, or take part in the Concierge-only lunch in one of the ship’s main dining areas.
If you choose, you can even get familiar with the Concierge Lounge, an exclusive space stocked with snacks, coffee, comfortable seating areas, and evening cocktails. Concierge Lounges are also known to have menu options for breakfast and lunch if you’d like to have a bite without the crowds.
Another fan-favorite perk are the private deck areas reserved for Concierge guests. These spaces are much more intimate, with premier lounge chairs, hot tubs, and even amenities like drinks and sunscreen.
What does the Concierge desk do during my trip?
One of our agents’ greatest takeaways from the Concierge experience is time saved in booking excursions, dining reservations and other add-ons.
Instead of waiting in line at Guest Services, Concierge guests have a separate team of Cast Members who are able to not only plan your activities, but plan them in advance. This means that you truly have a “leg up” on securing the most popular reservations, like dinner at Palo or cabanas at Castaway Cay. In fact, while reservations typically open up by Castaway Club tier level, Concierge guests can book before anyone else. You can even send the Concierge Team your list of preferences in advance, so reservations are waiting for you when you board.
If you’re traveling internationally, you’ll be especially glad to have Concierge status, as these guests are given a designated time slot for passport control. Getting through security and off the boat sooner means more time to explore your destinations, and less time waiting in line.
When it comes time to say goodbye, Concierge Level-guests are treated to a farewell perk with expedited disembarkation. Instead of spending time waiting to get off the ship, Concierge staff will escort you off the boat as early as possible. This lets you get a head start on your way to the airport, parks, or other “next destination” without stress or waiting around.
How do I sign up?
Each Disney Cruise Line ship has a dedicated number of Concierge Level rooms and suites at a higher price point than standard staterooms. They do sell out, so be sure to let your agent know if you’re interested in Concierge status so they can lock it in when available.
If you’re committed to a particular itinerary, and Concierge Level is already sold out, we highly recommend checking on last-minute availability once you arrive at the port for embarkation. It’s always possible that there may have been cancellations or changes, and if available, you might get a great deal on the upgrade since it’s the day of your sailing!
