An Adventure for Everyone
MVT Agents Holly, Jess, Candice and Cori traveled to Costa Rica with Adventures by Disney in 2023, each with a unique experience to suit their needs.
Built on a platform of expanding horizons and exploring new frontiers, Adventures by Disney has been bringing global vacations within reach for nearly 20 years.
Guests are transported to historic, exotic and sometimes remote destinations, getting the chance to see the world as locals do through hands-on excursions alongside expert guides. For some, it means zip-lining in Costa Rica or snorkeling the Red Sea, climbing the steps of the Acropolis or hiking glaciers in Iceland. For others, it might mean perusing museums and tasting their way through traditional cuisine.
And while it might be seen as the kind of vacation to take you out of your comfort zone, it doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your preferences or well-being in order to get the most out of your land, sea, or even private jet adventures.
We’ve praised Adventures by Disney in the past for its commitment to the “Disney Difference.” Guests receive service that’s continually a step above, but it’s so much more than skilled tour guides and memorable entertainment.
Adventures by Disney takes into account that guests may be anxious – even hesitant – about excursions, menus, languages and accessibility. Many of our clients and agents alike have traveled with Adventures by Disney, several of which required accommodations that the company was all-too-ready to handle.
MVT Agent Samantha was sailing aboard the Rhine River Cruise, exploring storybook-worthy destinations like Germany, France and the Netherlands. With a gluten allergy, she could have easily faced the onboard dining with hesitation, avoiding dishes she didn’t know might be safe to eat and missing out on the culinary side of her adventure.
Instead, Adventures by Disney handled her allergy seamlessly.
“The chef made sure I could have anything I wanted on the menu and he adjusted it accordingly,” she said. “I was never refused an item and I got all the same components of the meal as everyone else.”
“From the first morning the staff knew of my allergy and by the time I got to the table there was a plate waiting for me,” she said. “I never even had to ask.”
That attention to detail did not stop once she crossed the gangway. Whenever they stopped in a new port city, Disney Adventure Guides provided Samantha with translations in German, French, even Dutch, so she could simply show her phone to communicate her allergy to restaurant staff that might not speak English.
“I never had any issues at all,” she said.

Now, for those who have experience with land and cruise excursions – or even lengthy theme park days – the activity level of Adventures by Disney may be at top of mind.
Plenty of historic and environmental sites require a healthy amount of exertion, and often won’t have accommodations like escalators or scooter paths. Plus, adrenaline-boosting activities like rugged hikes or white water rafting just aren’t for everyone… but that doesn’t mean you need to abandon these itineraries from your travel bucket list.
“There is always a ‘less active’ option, if the ‘more active’ one is a no-go for the traveler, no matter the reason,” said MVT Agent Jess.
Jessica participated in a Land Adventure to Costa Rica in Summer 2023, shortly after recovering from major surgery that spring. Even if she wanted to join the rest of the group ziplining above the canopy, it just wasn’t in the cards.
Instead, one of the Adventure Guides led Jess and a few additional travelers on an easy hike to some picturesque rope bridges nearby.
“It was probably my favorite part of the whole trip,” she said, “and it was even more special because there were only a few people and we could truly go at our own pace.” She added that the Adventure Guides never made anyone feel “less than” for opting for a more relaxed activity.
Whether your concerns are mobility issues, weight restrictions, fear, medical limitations, or even just disinterest in the chosen activities, you’re not required to go beyond your limit.
Even more impressive are the lengths Adventure Guides will go to make sure you get the most out of your experience. For Samantha, visiting the Anne Frank in Amsterdam was high on her list, but wasn’t offered as part of her itinerary.
“Though it wasn’t an option, the Disney Guides helped us get tickets online, gave us directions on how to walk there and then told us how and when to meet up with them later in the day,” she said.
It may have meant an additional cost for admission, but Samantha was so pleased that she could see what she wanted, as well as participate in much of the rest of the day’s planned activities.
In fact, one of the only instances where you’d have to participate is when an activity is tied to your transportation to a new location. For example, Jessica explained how their visit to a chocolate farm in Costa Rica was not optional, because it involved bringing them to another part of the country for the next leg of their trip… though nobody seemed to mind spending the day surrounded by cocoa!
