Agent Spotlight: Jackie
With 35 years of experience in the travel industry, Jackie has firsthand knowledge to plan unforgettable vacations across the globe.
When you grow up mesmerized with airports, the sky truly becomes the limit.
Like many advisors, Agent Jackie’s interest for travel began at quite a young age. She recalls being fascinated by airports, and the idea that she could be in a completely different part of the world in a matter of hours.
“I love to immerse myself in the culture and landscape of an entirely new destination,” she said.
That passion has led to a 35-year career in the travel industry – from families to student groups, retail to government, corporate to VIP, Jackie has covered the map in more ways than one.
“Travel is my heart,” she said, adding that working for Magical Vacations Travel has been her favorite company to be a part of, because it gives her a chance to build a relationship with her clients from day one.
“I like the idea of starting with a blank canvas, and building and executing an incredible adventure for the client,” she said.
Jackie specializes in crafting high-end vacations for her clients all over the world. She’s incredibly well-traveled, and applies much of her own experience to benefit her clients. Some of her favorites include European tours, river cruises, and especially custom itineraries for honeymooners.
“I enjoy working closely with a couple one-on-one. Getting to know them and getting a feel for what excites them, what kind of destination or adventure they are looking for, and then creating the trip of their dreams,” Jackie said.
Her professional experience has also earned Jackie a solid foundation of guests looking to explore the islands of Hawaii.
“I know the destination so well,” she said, having spent years working for a Hawaii-based tour operator and getting familiar with the islands. “I can be really confident that I’m putting the client in the resort best-suited for them.”
In addition to Hawaii, some of Jackie’s most memorable travels include Iceland, Italy, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Greece, and the California coastline, among others.
Of course, being an advisor with Magical Vacations Travel also means Jackie has pixie dust in her veins. She first traveled to Walt Disney World with her family the year that it opened, when she was just four or five years old.
“I can still clearly recall walking into the Magic Kingdom for the first time,” she said, “and distinctly remember the butterflies in my stomach from excitement. Pure magic!”
Always on the go! Jackie often finds herself staying at Pop Century because of its comforts, location, and convenience.
Jackie still feels the magic when she returns to Disney as an adult. These days, you might find her at the Polynesian or Yacht & Beach Club resorts, but more likely leading the pack to the next park.
“I love the Yacht & Beach Club, but usually stay at Pop Century, because it’s my go-to. I really don’t spend much time at the resorts because I’m always on the go when I’m in Disney,” she said. “I just need an iced coffee and a bed – Pop Century has the best beds and the Skyliner!”
She’s taken part in several agent educational trips, getting close with fellow agents and staying up to date on the ever-changing Disney landscape.
“I genuinely get excited when I have the opportunity to travel with, and spend time with MVT agents,” she said.
Jackie finds the firsthand experiences have helped her in creating helpful and memorable vacations for her clients, since she can honestly speak to what they’ll be seeing, doing, eating, and how they’ll be getting around property.
She hails experience as the most valuable tool an agent can have, and why she recommends newcomers and veterans alike reach out to a travel advisor before booking new trips.
“Agents that specialize in Disney know everything there is to know about Disney” she said. “They can save the client so much time and money, and help them avoid lines, which then maximizes their time enjoying the attractions, instead of waiting on hold on the telephone or waiting in lines at the parks and restaurants.”
Whether you’re looking for a quick Disney getaway, a relaxing Hawaiian escape, or an elaborate European adventure, Jackie is ready to build a vacation you won’t soon forget.
